V Rising: How to Build Your Own Vampire Empire in the Sandbox MMO
Most video games will rely on one or two genres to tell their stories, but that doesn't restrict developers from incorporating minor elements of other genres if the story requires it. By this logic, it isn't necessary to limit vampires to a particular genre, even if they are typically considered more suited to horror.
Vampires don't need to be terrifying to be considered iconic, but it can be a great help. The only thing a vampire really needs to be is compelling. A convincing personality alongside a believable backstory is more than enough to create a lovable vampire, and, though many games apply these traits well, some do it better than others.

Unlike most video game vampires, Jurgen contracts vampirism through unconventional means. He receives the infliction from a slushie, and, though some may assume him to be a decent person because of this, they will quickly learn how wrong they are upon meeting him.
Though Vamp is never truly confirmed to be a vampire, the fact that he drank the blood of his deceased family members and came to develop some otherworldly powers all but cements him as one. Vamp has remained one of the Metal Gear series' core staples for a variety of reasons, but his vampiric abilities are the most notable.
Not only did Vamp consume the blood of his parents, but countless others throughout the series as well. Like a vampire, he can walk on water, regenerate, ascend vertical slopes, and travel absurdly fast. Metal Gear has introduced some truly unsettling characters since its inception, but Vamp is one of the strangest.
Carmilla's overly sexualized design may somewhat diminish her as a character, but she remains one of the most vindictive and sinister vampires in gaming history. Her time in Castlevania: Lord of Shadow sets her on a quest for blood, but the protagonist, Gabriel, blocks her path.
Dimitrescu is iconic for a variety of reasons. She is frighteningly tall, has a fascinating way of conversing with others, and is also harboring a shocking level of anger behind her calm and collected demeanor. Her final moments in the game see her discarding her more approachable form in favor of becoming a dragon-like creature and using her newfound powers to kill Ethan Winters. Though her attempt to do so fails, she remains one of the most terrifying vampires in gaming history.
Serana is an ancient vampire introduced in Skyrim's Dawnguard DLC. Upon unearthing her from her slumber, she joins the Dragonborn as a follower on his quest to rid Skyrim of a terrible evil. Her father, Lord Harkon, seeks to plunge the world into darkness, thus allowing vampires free rein on the darkened land, but Serana refuses to stand by and let this happen.

Much like last year, I spent most of my gaming time this year immersed in retro games. I considered making Skies of Arcadia on the Dreamcast my Game of the Year pick, mostly for how the Logitech G Cloud and emulation have allowed me to enjoy the game in ways I couldn't on the original hardware: in handheld form, with save states, fast-forwarding through the way-too-many random battles.
But the takeaway would just have been about the power of gaming that fits the game-shaped hole in your life as opposed to traditional console or PC gaming that requires an audience to meet games on their own terms. And I already talked about that in a column just a couple months ago.
It's with that exposure to cheapo gaming in mind that I say Vampire Survivors is one of the best deals you can get on PC. It's an inventive, surprising bullet hell roguelike, one that'll run on anything and had me muttering the disastrous "one more run" mantra at one in the morning after everyone in the house was asleep. As PC Gamer editor Robin Valentine put it on Twitter the other day, "It's dangerous to have on your hard drive."
All for a $2 game about vampires where the joke is that there are absolutely no vampires present. If you own Vampire Survivors on Steam, well, you own all these tracks too, as they're part of the soundtrack there.

Hi Deltias gaming, thanks for the guide I use this site as my go to guides for eso. I got vampirism at level 27 and I am now 41. My vamp level is at 9 and I have all the passives but the ultimate and mist have still not allowed me to morph them yet. Does this happen when you hit level 10 vampire? I have been grinding for days for xp to level it faster and have all the abilities on the bar (not sure if that helps). Any ideas or tips on how to get the morphs on those skills???

The appeal of Skyrim is that you can choose who you want to be. A melee-focused barbarian who can punch dragons to death? A mage who can blow apart giants with fireballs? Nah, you want to be an undead vampire lord of the damned, feasting on the Nords and only travelling by night. With great bonuses like being immune to disease and poison, and a large bonus to spell damage, Skyrim can be the ultimate vampire RPG.
This is an incomplete list of video games which strongly feature vampires. This includes games where the player character is a vampire, or where a vampire is the primary antagonist, as well as games which feature vampires as the primary enemy variant.[1][2] Games which feature dhampirs, half-vampires, in the same way are also included.
You are part of a fictional top-secret government agency which investigates and combats supernatural events - one of the available agents is a vampire that can turn to mist, each agent has his/her own special abilities.
Vampire the Masquerade is a social, politics type game. Vampires are drawn together into feudal style courts, ruled by Princes, Barons or Bishops depending on the Sect your city belongs to. Princes rule Camarilla cities in a fashion similar to medieval feudalism enforcing brutal laws designed to keep vampires hidden, and designed to keep the young powerless and the old in power. Sounds familiar, right?
And Barons rule Anarchs, which (and forgive me, I am less well versed in Anarch Politics in vampire) tend to be in or near Camarilla domains, and are made up of the disenfranchised that do not hold with the oppressive nature of many princes or the stuffiness of the Camarilla. I am aware it is more complex than that, but it will do for the moment.
There is a very detailed section on charater creation, including all the abilities you can learn and all the other background stuff your character might have. And there are pages and pages of vampiric disciplines. All the classics from Hammer Horror are covered, from mesmerism, forgetfulness, summoning of people, summoning of beasts and super strength and Speed and so on and so on. You can have a lot of fun just reading all the various things that vampires can do if they spend the time developing their blood fuelled powers.
Letting you work your way up from lowly thug to vampire lord, V Rising is all about building the perfect moody castle to lounge about in like Dracula in Castlevania. The dark and gloomy isometric world of V Rising is full of enemies as well as prey to feast on, but blood determines what kind of powers you get. V Rising is one of the best ways to live the vampire power fantasy.
The vampire concept has always been a neat corner to explore, especially within video games. The feeling of ultimate power that comes with prowling the night and preying on clueless humans has always been a satisfying and exhilarating experience. Even though vampires may not have gained as much popularity as zombies, gamers are constantly interested in playing games that revolve around these mysterious creatures.
